Poets have nothing on you

I tried explaining enjambment with little success,

Much to my despair. When something

Is the main point you must emphasise it, pause,

Stress the word like a thick fat underline.

Similes are like a crutch — I think

You know that — which we lean on when

Out of ideas. Blue like the sky, we get pretty

Unoriginal. Lonely as a rose, rotten and

Romantic like Romeo — here alliteration is

Demonstrated. I can teach as much but my

Eloquence every time I speak to you is

Robbed from me, stunned by the sheer

Presence that I have thought I’d be content just

Yearning for. If you had not understood me,

For you have never understood my English

Anyways, here’s a hint to learn something new:

Check the first of every line and take an

Easy guess at what an acrostic is.
